Hyperbole and a Half, Depression Part Two
And that’s the most frustrating thing about depression. It isn’t always something you can fight back against with hope. It isn’t even something — it’s nothing. And you can’t combat nothing. You can’t fill it up. You can’t cover it. It’s just there, pulling the meaning out of everything. That being the case, all the hopeful, proactive solutions start to sound completely insane in contrast to the scope of the problem.
It would be like having a bunch of dead fish, but no one around you will acknowledge that the fish are dead. Instead, they offer to help you look for the fish or try to help you figure out why they disappeared.Sorry but can we just talk about how fucking perfectly Allie depicts depression?

Some beautiful snaps of my 3rd Place performance at the Motor City Pole Dance Competition <3 All credit to Spilt Sugar (website on the watermark). I placed (despite messing up a compulsory move) and I’m feeling so inspired for my next performance :) I have had the most amazing weekend watching not only the competition but the hours of showcases of women all all styles and levels and I’m absolutely overflowing with inspiration. I’m so grateful to have been part of this. There is something magical about uniting people full of passion for their art.
I’ve also learned so much this weekend through my competition experience. It was far from a perfect performance, but it is leaps and bounds better than my first go at competing. I also had the chance to take an eye-opening exploratory workshop with Aerial Amy focusing on finding our identity and movement style as dancers and working with our natural flow that taught me SO much about the way I move and forced me to focus on things I never have in the past. This weekend has given me so much inspiration and so many tools to bring it to life. Can’t wait to perform again :)

Question with 1 note
slephoto asked: I TRIED to link you to the photo I was talking about, but it looks like Tumblr's eating messages even with edited links. :-( If you go to my page & search for aerialist it'll show up.
Found it!
Based on pole terminology, I’d call it a closed Scorpio (that’s the US version of it, in the UK they’d call it the Closed Gemini).

I don’t know what this is, but I love it.
I love everything about the Gangnam Style video. And I have the BIGGEST crush on the train girl (HyunA)
